It shows its dominance not only in its handling characteristics, but also in its combination with fuel efficiency, which is unprecedented for a UUHP tyre. What is its success? Let&#8217;s take a look &#8211; first we&#8217;ll discuss the technologies used, and then we&#8217;ll look at the individual tests and their verdict towards the <a href=\"\/continental-sportcontact-7\/\">SportContact 7<\/a>. The tyre consistently achieved top positions in these tests, outperforming competitors in several aspects. According to the Autobild 2022 test, the SportContact 7 excels in handling on dry surfaces, offers good aquaplaning reserves, and has short braking distances, ensuring a safe driving experience on wet roads. It was also the fastest in dry conditions with the shortest dry braking distance. Drawbacks included poor aquaplaning resistance and increased rolling resistance, but the tyre still emerged as the deserving test winner, setting a new standard for the UUHP segment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"\/225-40-R18\/summer\/\">Autobild 2023<\/a> test reported similar results, praising the tyre for its dynamic cornering handling, precise steering, and impressive braking performance on wet and dry surfaces. The main drawback noted in this test was moderate safety reserves during cornering aquaplaning.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sportauto 2023 test also highlighted the Continental SportContact 7&#8217;s well-balanced handling and short braking distances on wet surfaces, as well as its high grip level during braking and cornering on dry surfaces. However, this test found the tyre&#8217;s cornering grip on wet surfaces not quite up to top-level standards and noted increased drive-by noise. Autozeitung 2023 commended the tyre for its aquaplaning protection, high grip in corners, and impressive braking performance (38.1 meters) in collaboration with Bridgestone. It was lauded for its high aquaplaning safety, well-balanced wet surface performance, and short dry braking distances. However, the tyre exhibited strong understeering during dry handling and increased rolling noise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In summary, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.programiz.com\/continental-sportcontact-7\">Continental SportContact 7<\/a> has consistently achieved top rankings in various tests, demonstrating its exceptional performance across different driving conditions. Its strengths lie in wet and dry handling, braking, and grip, while its main drawbacks include aquaplaning resistance and rolling noise. It should be noted that these are the usual shortcomings of a UUHP tyre and in no test did it prevent an overall excellent rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_main_competitors\"><\/span>The main competitors<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s quite difficult to find a competing tyre as Continental markets the SportContact 7 as UUHP tyre, but doesn\u2019t have any UHP tyre in the line-up. With it\u2019s balanced driving characteristics, it\u2019s main competitors are in the UHP segment, but they usually can\u2019t keep up in the dry performance. The closest you can get is the <strong><a href=\"\/goodyear-eagle-f1-asymmetric-6\/\">Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6<\/a><\/strong>, which is reported better on wet surface by some of the tests or at least in aquaplanning prevention in most of the tests. The main reason to mention this tyre is it\u2019s price, which is more than good for what this tyre can offer. It doesn\u2019t have some of the understeer tendencies reported by SportAuto test and should offer a sharper steering response.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another sporty tyre is the <a href=\"\/michelin-pilot-sport-4-s\/\">Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S<\/a>, which is now a bit dated, but was a benchmark for UUHP tyres for a long time. It\u2019s very sporty, better in aquaplaning than the Conti, but also very pricey. There should be a Pilot Sport 5 S soon, but the rumours say it\u2019s going to be OEM only and not available for every car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Verdict_well_balanced_tyre_for_every_day_use_and_occasional_sporty_driving\"><\/span>Verdict: well balanced tyre for every day use and occasional sporty driving<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The use case for the new SC7 can go something like this &#8211; you can use through out the week and be sure you are safe even in rainy weather and then on the weekend, you can go to track days and be sure to have fun and keep up with others without having to change your tires.
